Growing up in Santa Barbara, California Luke enjoyed playing any sport he could get his hands on including baseball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, tennis, roller hockey, football, and golf. In high school he captained the varsity baseball team where he earned 2nd team all-conference honors. He also pitched and played outfield with the Cleveland Indians scout team based in Southern California.

Luke stayed close to home as he attended Westmont College where he majored in Kinesiology. He worked closely with the therapists at Westmont to ensure athlete health and performance for their collegiate athletes. While in school, Luke met his wife, Kasey, who is currently studying Occupational Therapy at Creighton University.

Luke continued his education by receiving his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Regis University, North Denver Campus. Having a desire to treat elite baseball players, Luke joined the Next ERA team in 2019. He is currently pursuing his Orthopedic Clinical Specialty as a resident in training from Regis University.
