DR. Kaitlyn Merritt PT, DPT
Centennial, CO
Kaitlyn is originally from Trabuco Canyon, California where she grew up playing soccer, softball, basketball, and gymnastics before honing in on competitive gymnastics for 9 years. She made the switch to track field in middle school carrying her passion and dedication to the sport all the way through college where she pole vaulted at Stanford University.
Her experience recovering from injuries introduced her to amazing mentors at Stanford who sparked her interest in physical therapy. She studied Human Biology with a focus in Physiological and Cognitive Child Development while helping lead the Women’s Track and Field Team as a two-year captain.
Following her time at Stanford, Kaitlyn moved to Durham, North Carolina where she pursued her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Duke University. She coached gymnastics part time at a local children’s gymnastic gym while studying for her degree. During her time at Duke, Kaitlyn had the opportunity to intern with EXOS where she treated a variety of professional, collegiate, and high school athletes in multiple sports including baseball, football, and soccer. This confirmed her passion for helping athletes return to what they love and ultimately led her to Next ERA.
Outside of work, you can find Kaitlyn hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, and exploring all the natural beauty of Colorado with family and friends.
